Miranda Grieco Sliter, Co-FounderNightcap, conceived by industry veteran Miranda Grieco Sliter, traces its roots back to her internship at Pulse Music, an original music production house established in 2004. Starting with administrative tasks, Grieco evolved into the executive producer of Pulse Music. Amidst the industry upheavals caused by COVID-19, Miranda and her partner, Dan Kuby, envisioned their new venture. Kuby focused on creating a client-facing music library, using their extensive two-decade collection, enabling clients to independently access and license tracks with session ownership for customization. Miranda's expertise in sonic branding and sonic IDs centers on collaborating with new brands to establish a distinctive sound identity.
The transition from Pulse Music to Nightcap involved acquiring the entire Pulse Music library and seamlessly continuing operations under a new brand.
"The pandemic has initiated a paradigm change, making a transition from the traditional in-person studio sessions to virtual collaborations. This shift has turned challenges into opportunities for us,” says Miranda Grieco Sliter, co-founder of Nightcap. “We transcend geographical boundaries through the adoption of software facilitating attended mixes in the virtual realm."
The company strategically positions itself as a comprehensive solution for diverse clients within the advertising, branding, editing, and film industries. The primary focus is on advertising agencies and music and creative producers while extending services to in-house creative teams, edit houses, and music supervisors involved in TV and film productions. It offers a curated and customizable music experience that caters to each client’s needs.
Nightcap believes in a meticulous and broad exploratory process, ensuring that all options and aspects are covered. The innovative coupling of sonic IDs with DNA tracks provides clients with versatile assets for branding across various platforms. This approach involves working backward, taking the newly created sonic ID and using it as the foundation for a long-form musical composition—the DNA track. This track becomes a valuable asset for clients, suitable for various applications such as branding, television, conventions, trade shows, and marketing materials.
